The lake opposite offers excellent freshwater fishing as does the nearby
Gweebarra River and the sea offers plenty of shore fishing. Surfing from the
Dooey beach, golf, pony trekking, hill walking in the Blue Stack Mountains are
just a few activities available.
The area has excellent restaurants for the discerning diner and the local pubs
provide traditional music and dance. The nearest towns are Dunglloe and
